I recently ordered my second Thundercat rod from Team Catfish. I was real happy with the first and wanted to get another. I live pay check to pay check these days and can't go and order a bunch at a time. When I recieved the rod the guides were almost an inch out fo line. I contacted Team Catfish and they were very helpful. I sent the rod back at my cost and they sent a new one back real fast. There service is great. Unfortunatly the guides on this one twist to the right. I can fish with it so I won't be sending it back. Just can't see paying for the return shipping again. 40 dollar rod shipping 19 dollars, before you know it 80 dallars for a 40 dallar rod. I am going to try Proangler rods next. Anyone use these or is there a better option for the price?

I havn't used the Team Catfish Rods, but Bobby Kubin does, and I think he has been really happy with them,

I do use Proangler Rods, and have had no problems or issues with them at all, there is some people dealing these rods from different parts of the state now so maybe you can find one close to you and can get one without paying for shipping!!!

Are the Thundercat rods their 2 piece rods? I have never heard anything negative about Team Catfish rods, but if I was in your situation I would be a little upset.

I have 4 of the Thunder Cat rods, 5 of the 3/4 Ton rods and 4 of the 1/2 Ton rods from Team Catfish. All of my guides line up correctly. The Thunder Cat rods are 2 piece and line up just about near perfect. Sometimes the end section will loosen up a bit when the temperature changes. I haven't bothered with gluing the sections together. I just push/twist it back in place and keep on fishing.

I've got an older one in a spinning model and the end of it is way too whippy for casting 2oz no rolls.

I'm all Pro Angler rods. Spinning and Baitcasting I like them very well.

It is a little upsetting but that is how it goes sometimes. This is the second rod I ordered from them. The firs is great and is the reason I ordered this one. I am real happy with all the other products I have ordered from them and will continue to use them. I Hope they can get a handle on this quality control issue. I blame the manufacturer that they use and not team catfish.

Pro anglers are BY FAR the best value for the money. But I'm thinking the thundercats are their lighter weight channel cat rods. Am I right? If that's the case, the pro anglers may be too heavy for what you want.

There are several rods I thought about trying from websites but the shipping always killed it for me.......unless I was able to buy 6 rods at a time I don't think I'll ever mail order a rod.......

last winter i got a tanglin' 10' rod ... haven't used it much because i haven't fished much ... any way very nice rod & i gotta say i have not seen a reel seat like this before ... can you say over kill ... i love over kill

i will soon have a PA 10' rod to compare ... first the price to my door doesn't compare ... the PA would have to a real lemon to not be the best deal

i have been catfishing all my life & have found very few rods that i didn't have to order ... spinnin' gear has always been more available on a local level

regards albertking

catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

I lucked into 3 identical 6 ft. Lew's Speed Sticks this summer at a garage sale.

Those rods are really built RIGHT!
