You are allowed one(1) sharpnose OR blacktip OR bonnethead per day. Minimum of 24" with no max limit.

other allowable shark species would be any shark NOT in the prohibited species. For example, you are allowed one(1) bullshark or spinner but it has to be at least 64".

This is simple. Look at this way:

There's 3 groups of sharks. The first is prohibited. You can't keep even one, regardless of size.

The 2nd group must be at least 24" and include 3 species; sharpnose, blacktip, bonnethead.

The 3rd group must be 64" or more. This group includes all known sharks in the gulf except those that are prohibited.

Common examples would be the Greater Hammerhead, short-fin Mako, Bull, Lemmon, Tiger, Nurse, Scalloped Hammerhead, and probably some others.

There's a free app for I-phone. Go to the app store and search "Gulf Fishing Council".

no matter what kind of shark, you can only keep one shark per day.

you can't keep the prohibited sharks.
if the shark is sharpnose OR blacktip OR bonnethead, the min is 24"
if the shark you keep is not sharpnose OR blacktip OR bonnethead, the min is 64"
