Big Brown Bass...Mind control huh? Don't relate to that, I only control me. Sounds like she might be the boss, unless that house and 10 acres is lakefront. That would make it perfect! texdawg...Welcome to the TFF, best fishin' forum on the net. Don't understand needing a closet full of shoes. All I need is a pair of rubber boots for a muddy creek bank, another pair for winter, and 1 more pair that is waterproof. Well, maybe 1 more pair for summer. Ok, maybe 1 more pair, I just might go somewhere besides the water and need to look fancy...NOT, just take me to the water and let me fish. TBASSYATES...I hope you are not being set-up. Sounds like you are seeing me, except I like sleeping in a tent, don't need a cabin. And, of course if it were me I would be in the tournament too. No, you are not being set-up, more women nowadays are discovering what real fun is. Sounds like you might be seeing a real person, good luck. Hope I am lucky enough to find someone one day that also likes to do what I like to do. rooster tail...Sounds like you really do have it made. That's great. JRob...Can't have enough fishin' stuff. FISH DOCTOR...NO, you are not the only one. And, yes, it's a desire that has no cure. I'm hooked too. quackills05...I won't add mine up either, might find out I could live on the lake. No, can't have too many rods/reels. I added 2 new ones at the Boat Show last Sat plus the 4 new ones I got at the Fishing Show this month. Don't even want to count them all, but I use all of them at one time or another. Cajundaddy...Truck, boat, house on Toledo Bend. Wow, you really do have it made. Sandspike...I love to fish more than anything. I would make a great fishin' buddy...yep, I'll buy the gas, pay for the launch and bring the bait too. Just get me to the water and let me fish. After all, the boat owner is paying for the boat! Guess good husbands must be harder to find than good wives because I have a lot of fishin' buddies. Well guys...good luck on the next cast. I'm always ready to go fishin'. Right now by the front door is my tackle box, 2 tackle bags on top, cooler next to that stack and a lengthy rod & reel rack mounted to the wall going down the hall. My rain gear hanging next to the rod/reel rack and boots sitting under the rain gear. Yep, fishin' is a disease and I have a large incurable dose. :p

I knew a man that never spent any money on anything, he just grumbled about what others were doing with their money. He ended up a bitter old man that never had enough money no matter how much he had.
Yes the boat is expensive, but I will have wonderful memories to reflect on when I can't do anything else. Took the family on a ski trip over Christmas, EXPENSIVE!!! However, the memories with the kids are already priceless and the value will increase with time.
If you sit around adding up the cost of what you enjoy, maybe you should find something else to do. It comes down to value verse cost and right now I am getting a much greater value out of this than the cost.

Don't think adding up the cost of what you enjoy is cause for finding something else to do Clove. It's when you start to complain about it that it's time to find something else.
It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

Buzzbait,
Good point, problem is when total cost is calculated the enjoyment tends to go down and doubts creep in.
I work with people's finacial situations everyday and believe that while you should enjoy life, you definately have to be reasonable and live within your means. Guess that is why I don't have a new Ranger Z!
Now, where did I put that lottery ticket that is going to support my habit????

To get a per pound price, take what you spend and divide it by the number of pounds of fish you catch.
My Dad always said, if we had to go to the grocery store and pay that per pound price, we'd starve to death.

Lets see this is going to get wild. Boat-28,000 Electronics-1,500 Rods and Reels-3,000 Tackle-3,000 Truck-25,000 = 60,500 We ain't even talking gas and boat maintainance. What else would I spend the money on being single. Oh yea, hunting. Dog box $600. 2 dogs value about 2,500. $40 a month dog food. Etc. Man I love being a bachelor. No one to make happy but me. Although looking at this my retirement is getting pushed back by many years.

Red, Just read your posts. Not all of us are as blessed as I am: My wife bought me 2 days at the Bassmaster University seminars for next weekend in Arlington! I don't mean to brag about her to you guys out there-well, yes I do! She's not much into fishing, but she is into me, and that makes it pretty darn cool especially after 20 years together!

Hey Yall: I refuse to add mine up either because their Aint No Price On Love!! _I will tell you this if you're addicted to Bass Fishing and think it's exspencive...stay away from Saltwater Offshore/ Tuna fishing! _A decent Penn International 30 or Shimano Tiagra offshore saltwater reel is around $600- $800.00 new and a 50# class rod for it around $400.00. Add 600yds of Spectra line with a Mono topshot $100.00 and $1,000 worth of lures and terminal tackle. Cha-ching real quick!! Check out the "Winthrop Tools" Ball Bearing Roller line guides at www.MudHole.com at $1,000 a set! Oh and a decent boat to run 100 miles off shore $200,000.00. _Good Luck and Catch A Big'un Yall! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bazztex<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I got a buddy who fishes out of Grand Isle!
Replaced his fighting chair $5,895! Just for the chair! We did the labor!
Of course his pay code is slightly higher than mine!
Daily Prayer: Dear God, please put your arms around my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.
