First off I just want to say been here for a while just now finally signed on. You guys have a great site with alot of good info. My problem is just bought a new boat with a lowerance X 47 in console. Some time it works sometimes not. I have found it to be in the wire loom I can move it to make it work. Yeah this is warranty but I just want to fish and don't want them taking my boat right now. But my question is at the transducer I am hearing it in the water arcing while trolling around and when I put my hand on it it bites back. I can feel the voltage in the water around it, Is this right? Thanks

You shouldn't feel anything around it. You better take to the dealer and let them fix it. Sounds like your going to need a new transducer if it putting current in the water.

Do your power wires have spade connectors that plug into a panel? If so check if they are crimped and soldered or only crimped.

My eagle 480 was doing the exact same thing, even to shaking the wiring to make it work. Soldered the connectors and has never missed a beat since.

I do not think you would feel voltage around the transducer I agree with bella feeling the thump of the transducer.

yup I've heard & felt mine before too - I think you're actually feeling the sound waves. I emailed Eagle about the clicking sound - they said its the "pizza" unit or something like that - it vibrates to generate the ping.
