Used a homemade PVC Slurp Gun. Lots of plans on the net.

I still want to know what you caught on them.Did anyone ever use ghost shrimp for bait?Food? Scary halloween treats?
If I can get away from the Gulf I have a muley and an elk tag for colorado

YES ,anything that will bite live shrimp or dead,cut bait,live bait.Reds,trout.flounder,etc will eat ghost shrimp...Bill

I've had fun catching them but they can be hard to keep hooked.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

From Padre Island National Seashore Superintendents Compendium, Section 2.3 (d)(1)(6) Digging for bait is illegal (this includes the use of sand pumps for ghost shrimp)' Using a slurp pump at PINS can get you into trouble.

PINS is on Padre but it is not the whole Island, its just a big park on it.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

All that I caught were a few small Whiting. Was on PINS when I sucked up the shrimp. Have to watch doing that.

should of used the whiting for bait and worked your way up the food chain.
