Leaving for Rockport in the morning for a 3 day trip never be on the water there. Will be taking a small boat (14') with
us. Can anyone suggest an area to start fishing and a good
place to eat.

Thanks Lamar

Try putting in at cove harbor and fishing the little islands all around there. And for food, I highly suggest JJ's or The Boiling Pot which is my personal favorite.

Public ramp at Cove Harbor has easy acsess to protected water and good fishing. CH is located on Bus. 35 S. out of Rockport towards A.P. Good eats at Shempy's (burgers and such) across from Palm Harbor a little further down 35 from CH. Taqueria Vallarta also on the left of 35 on the way to CH. For seafood Capt. Benny's in Fulton or Crab In on 35 between Rockport and A.P. Panjo's pizza and China A buffet are in the strip center with the movie theater on Bus. 35 N. in Rockport.

Cove Harbor has some friendly water for a smaller boat and I've seen alot of good fish caught out of there. Boiling pot is awesome for food. Shempy's is a good greasy spoon. I mean that in a good way. Puerto Vallarta is cheap but good Mexican including shrimp cocktails and fish. Hope you have a good trip.

You could very well catch some huge fish this time of the year.!!! Lots of places to put in your boat along 361 between Aransas Pass and the ferry crossing, sorry that is if your boat is carriable (jon boat). Lots of places to eat down there...
