Can anyone tell me how to get to the CR put in near Dick's Place on the Brazos below Whitney? Planning on heading out there this Saturday and might try to put in there.

Crazy M***er F***er Road is what a pal calls that place, after a significant and memorable infraction with a local.
Richards place is safer, there at 2114. Just saying.
Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

I've put in at Richards place before, but was planning on getting out there pretty early. I'll give him a call on Friday and check it out. Thanks for the feedback. I could do without any run ins with unhappy locals. lol.

I've been putting in there and taking out there as well. There's a few pretty descent stretches in that area (within a mile or two). Haven't caught anything huge, but it's been fun when I've went out with the family.

With out needing a shuttle, we've just crack o dawn parked in Richards lot, left a note on the dash, and paid him his launch fee later.
It was $ 7.00 ? per boat, which you carry, up and down the hill. The 'gate' (its a cable, and you'll go Sesame Street, under, over, or around ) stays locked. No trucks get shore access, but Richards.

We put in at Richard's place yesterday morning and had great time fishing in that area. Most fish were small, but we caught all kinds: smallmouth (or some mix), kentucky bass, bluegill, stripers and sandbass. Small rapala original minnows got us most of them, but we did catch some of the bass on plastics.

Stayed mostly upstream from the put in at Richards. Only went downstream just past the bridge.
