any one ever bought or ever used rolin martins helicopter lures?if so what did u think about them?

Roland hadn't been rollin' in the dough lately, so he got a TV spot for 30 minutes to sell abunch of these "wonder" lures (I wonder how many suckers bought them?)...it worked and now he's back roland in the dough.

Count me as one of the suckers. When I saw that info-mercial where he caught that alligator I started dialing. Those things twisted my line until it looked like a slinky coming off my reel. Oh well "a fool and his money......."

I may be one of the only guys on this board that has caught a fish with a helicopter lure. My wife bought me a box of them about 6 or 7 years ago. They sat in my garage collecting dust. Well one day in the fall about three years ago I took only those lures to Lake Alan Henry determined to catch a bass with that piece of junk. To my suprise I caught around a dozen fish including a couple in the 3-4lb range. I couldn't believe it. I have long since thrown those lures away. I thought it pretty funny that they actually worked. Sometimes I think given the right conditions really odd lures will work. That is what makes this game interesting. I used to think because Roland put his name on lures they had to be good. But live and learn. At least they were given to me and I didn't get suckered. Take that back, my wife bought them for me so I probably paid for them. Maybe I'm more of a sucker than I know!

i am also one of those suckers that fell for the helicopter lure, the flying lure, banjo minnow, true motion lure.... only caught fish on the flying lure and the banjo minnow. funny i never saw roland fishing his lure in a tournement or one of his shows.

You can buy Helicopter Lures at Big Lots stores for 99 cents a 4 pack.

I have given several of these to my bass fishing buddies as gag gifts.

They are usually good for a few laughs, although they probably would catch fish under the right conditions.

ANYONE REMEMBER THE LITTLE GADGET JIMMY HOUSTON ADVERTISED A FEW YEAR'S BACK THAT WOULD SHOOT YOUR LURE WHERE YOU WANTED IT WITH A Co2 CARTRIDGE.
