As far as I know, most people just make their own. Generally I pour some grain sorghum or birdseed in a milk jug and add some water and let it sit outside for about a week in the sun.

You have to sour it yourself which takes a few days to a week to do. Stop by a feed store and get a bag of Range cubes. No stink and they'll bring in the fish just as good if not better.

+1 on Deerstrangler's suggestion for range cubes when you're in a pinch and don't have a few days to get your mash together. Get you a bucket with a lid, fill it about 2/3 full with grain of choice (wheat, milo, corn, etc.), fill the rest with water, one beer, put the lid back on, and forget for about a week. You'll hear lots of preferences on which grain works best, but the main thing is that all will work for the intended use: concentrate catfish that are already in a certain area... If there's no catfish where you throw the concoction out, you sure won't concentrate them... I personally like milo the best, but corn works great, wheat works great, soybeans work great, etc. One note on the soybeans, there's not a more heinous stench on this planet.

Another way is to soak it for 24 hrs, then boil it for about an hour. After that put about 2 lbs of kosher salt in it and let it sit. I have some I did this way back in march and now it smells like a good bottle of Whiskey! Range cube work if your in a big hurry. Drill em and put em on a hook, might just get on that too.

DON'T put range cubes in with the grain that will be left for a week or so, It will make a black horrible mess, just like a breastfed baby's first poop.

Sounded good at the time, and I thought I was really on to something.

Through most of the year, I can find channel cat as shallow as 18" of water. I've been fishing areas where there's 2'-5' of water, and close to standing timber. I'm looking for holes in the stumps to dump the chum into. Also, I don't recommend over-chumming, but instead, chunk about 3 or 4 cups out. The goal is get them baited in, not feed them so much that they fill up and leave before getting hooked. Good luck, sir.

If your ina hurry to sour your grain add a can of cheep beer to your bucket of grain and water. The yeast in the beer will speed up the fermentation process tremendesly. Mike

Sour milo is hard to beat I don't use anything else. I fish all the time here on Lake Palestine and seldom come in without a limit. In my opinion it can't be beat.
