My FIL always keeps his yard immaculate, there is something messing with it, this is his back yard. It will start in just a little section then over night whatever it is mows down the grass, it does not seem to eat the grass but yet cut it off at ground level and leave it there. The grass does start to grow back. He has put out stuff for all kinds of insects/grubs etc and also for rabbits/rodents, there are no holes in the ground and no droppings to identify it. Any idea what would do this. it is in Plano, a fenced yard, and a protective beagle that would go after it if it was a rabbit or something like that. Thanks. He even put up a game cam to see if he could see anything, but no results. Thanks again.

It looks like Army Worm damage. Look for small striped worms, late in the evening is when they are the most active.

Lure buddy, looking at the link you posted it does look like army worms. I know he put stuff down but not sure if it covers army worms or not. Will have to check it out. Thanks for the link.

Tell your FIL to go buy an F250. It's a problem solver.

i used to work for a turf company and to me it looks like army worms or grubs but probly army worms. If its an armadillo u will be able to tell they make lil holes in ur grass while looking and digging for worms. But if it is army worms they do work more in the evening and some early mornings better get em before they take over the whole lawn. im like 99% sure that u can go to a local feed store and get a chemical called Tempo it should take care of your problem.
