eeksLast Sat. I had a client throw my Shimano 50MG on a Fenwick Eagle GT over board in 7 ft. of water. The good news is that it floated and did'nt sink to the bottom. The lite reel saved this puppy,3 inches of the rod handle was sticking up.That makes the Chronarch 50Mg worth the price for sure! thumb

I've dropped my GLX Jig & Worm series rod with a 50MG in the water. The whole rod floated. Now my Loomis Spinnerbait rod and Revo is in about 40' of water on Fork. The strap was behind the reel on that setup. Running down the lake in rough water at about 60mph caused it to go flying by my head. Sickening sight and feeling!

When I was a kid I dropped one of my dad's Shimano rod/reel in the lake. My dad ran to the back of the boat and cast his rattle-trap and caught it. I thought he was the COOLEST even though he was obviously upset.

We kicked one off in squaw creek last year. Luckly I had a marker bouy close so i tossed it out to mark the exact spot.

Tied on a Lake Fork Flutter Spoon and started dragging the area. 2nd or 3rd cast brought it up, and all was good!

Did you throw him in the water? You should have.

I had a almost new fly rod/reel dragged off the rear of the boat at Ray Hubbard. Fishing with my BIL in his Champion, he nailed it and the fly was dragging through the water and jerked the whole combo overboard. #^%$^$# and I don't cuss!!

6 or 7 years ago my buddy got a new Quantum PT Black, I cant remember the rod. We were fishing a tourney at Tyler and I threw it in, I can't tell you how it happened. After it left my hand, I instinctively jumped in. As I dove in I saw it bout five feet down and sinking. I was able to grab it and handed it to my buddy. He or i couldn't believe it. My son, when he was 4, threw my ice fishing rod in to Fork. I had bought it in Michigan.

On a COLD night years ago while I was fishing on the back deck my partner was sort of dragging his bait while TM to the next spot and his line got aroung my reel handle. When he felt resistence he set the hook and my rod went off the deck and the line had not wrapped on the handle. Would not jump in, I already was about frozen.

Last year on Fork, I took a non-fishing friend. In the boat lane, he was cold and had his hoodie on looking straight down at the floor. I saw my favorite rod go over the left side. I yelled, "Grab that!" He turns to me with both hands holding his hood on and said, "Huh???" No more rod. Why could it not have been the stupid $17 rod and reel that he brought? I guess higher quality rods bounce off boats better.
