Vaughn I'll do that next week when I get a chance. I also put a link to this thread on Bass Boat Central where a guy is having the same trouble. http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=92229 Jim the moderator for the thread is pretty sharp. Russ

rudapa, Update, I took the boat out to lewisville for the first time yesterday afternoon. When I turned on my 334 all the settings I had spent 20 minutes getting just right were gone. Even the option for doing split screen with sonar/gps was gone from the pages menu and every other menu. Needless to say I was a little pissed to be on a new lake and not be able to split the screen to get my map and sonar info at one time. I had my fishin buddy with me and he was pressed for time so I didn't want to spend all afternoon messing with the thing, so I just left it on sonar until we got back and I dropped him off. After he left I did a system reset that the tech at lowrance told me about and the menu returned to normal but all settings were lost. I took it back to BPS on the way home and the Lowrance rep was at a booth there, he said he had not gotten any reports of problems with the 334 yet. I told him of my problems and exchanged the unit for a 332. I think I may have just gotten a dud, but next time I think I will wait until a product has been on the market for a while before I go spending $650.00 on it.

Thanks, maybe this will get worked out before I get around to buying one. Where are you going to put your antenna for the 332C? I hate to add anymore stuff to the already crowded bow. Russ

My boat has pretty wide gunwales so I think I will put velcro on it and stick it there as close to the unit as I can. That way I can pull it off and take it with me to my other boat in Arkansas.

I have been using mine on Lewisville last weekend and this Saturday and Sunday. The Satelites take a long time to pick up my location. I had an error of my position of 265 feet. I added the WAAS option from the menue on the gps and the error was still about 25 feet. I wanted to mark spots where i catch fish. I do not want to be off 25 feet. I was told with the WAAS it would be about 5 feet off at the most. What does everyone think about the accuracy. This is my first high tech dept finder / gps.

Guys, Concerning where to put the antenna for the 332c; you might consider the plate that is out that mounts onto your existing bracket that holds your unit. It allows that antenna to be mounted on the same bracket as your unit and the antenna sits just behind your 332c. It is a molded plate that fits the bracket and then has a circular extention for the antenna. I have not tried these but have considered getting one for my 332c. I saw it in either Cabela's or BPS magazine. Just a thought.

I have the 332C & The plate for the hockey puck is very nice!!! I just bought it at Cabelas. I have the unit set up on a ram mount, & I can remove everything but the power wire, the transducer wire & the ball for the ram mount.
At $200.00 a pop, I did not even want to take a chance on having the puck stolen. I will say that you have to make sure the wiring does not cover the puck as you use it! I was out on Pool for about 30 min & I kept loosing GPS signal. moved the wires covering the puck & all was well!
Get the plate! very compact & convenient!!

Update, I put the new 332 to the test today and all I have to say is "problem solved". This unit picked up our location within a few seconds of being turned on. It tracked all the sats and was in WAAS mode without a single drop out or position loss. Position error was 5-10 feet while moving. Get one with a hockey puck and be happy.

Well I hope to be installing my 334 this week. I am sure a little nervous about what I'm hearing. I'm pretty anxious to get it checked out.

This has been a really great topic with lots of great information. I will check out my 334 again this weekend. I look forward to another report on how it is working for others. My boat is a Ranger with a small windshield but the 334 is free from any inteference. It can be straight up and down, but that didn't help. I will let everyone know. thanks John

wow this is all confusing. i have a lms330-c im sure its the predecessor to yalls. its probably 2 years old but i was thinking of moving it to my new boat. The boat i just got has a garmin 166 on it.do yall think it would benefit me to swap to the Lowrance? another question is how do you know how far off it is.
