yep, I agree with kingdad. Big game is great stuff for the coast.

But I have recently rigged a two spool reel (one with Fireline & one with Seaguar fluorocarbon) that I will be trying out for the first time when I go down in April. I'll let you know what the results are when I get back.

I like triline XL and strangly Stren Golden. I have on several ocassions seen times when the Gold out fish the Triline 5 or 6 too 1. I have no explanation but it happens. Maybe the Red Fish see it and come looking at it and find the bait.

If you don't know where you are going, don't be surprised if you don't get there.

I have started using Berkley's IronSilk and have really loved it so far, tough as nails and not much memory

I agree with Iron Silk. I know it's not a favorite on here, but I've had great success with it.

One of my favorite bass holes has a bunch of concrete piles under water (old road debris). I fish crank baits through the piles and I could not find a line that could take the abuse except braid until I tried Iron Silk. It is very tough and supple. My only complaint is that it is a little thick.

I have fished with Big Game for years also. I've tried the new lines, super braids, fluorocarbon, Co-polymer lines, and I'm not knocking any of them. But day in and day out I bass fish and catfish in the worst places you can fish. A jig is my bass bait I choice and I fish for flathead in the snags and Big Game does the job. I hardy ever break off a fish and when I do it's usually because I should have retied. I use 15lbs and 20lbs test for bass and 30 to 50 for the river. $6.89 for around 400 to 600 yards. I don't think you can beat it for the price. And if you read, alot of the pros make a living with it. That my $.02.
