I would strongly recommend Stephan F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Tx. First, it's a four/five year school, not a junior college. It's a beautiful campus and a nice sized school...I would guess fall enrollment around 10,000. They have a fishing team and as a matter of fact it is a SFA student who has won a berth in the Classic. But, best of all, you are very near Sam Rayburn Reservoir.....a trememdous bass lake and large! Clear water and hydrilla...just great ramps and beautiful camping spots ran by the Corp of Engineers so you have no homes on the water.

The results from the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship: http://www.collegiatebasschampionship.co...LTS_27May11.pdfThis is a pretty good summation of all the central and southern schools with active fishing clubs. I say central and southern because Dallas is too far away for most of the west coast teams to travel. It's a safe bet that most of the Texas and Southeastern universities with fishing teams are represented here.

Don't choose where to go to school based on the bass club that the University has.

Not only does tarleton have a good bass club from what I hear it's one of the cheaper universities in Tx. As well as it's a great school from a educational stand point and only keeps growing and becoming a better university. It's smaller which is real nice the town has the things you need for entertainment as well as social events clubs and is relatively close to some real good lakes. If your looking for a good university with many great options and an overall good student population with smaller class sizes which is really nice haveing say 30 to 50 students in most classes vs over a 100 plus students in classes at the bigger universities. Then I'd take a good look at tarleton state.

Don't choose where to go to school based on the bass club that the University has. Nearly every 4 year college has a bass fishing club. Pick a school that has your major in an area that you like. But if you want to talk members, A&M has 50 members signed up already this semester. We are a huge club that is very competitive.
