Where is a good place to get barbecue at or near Lake Whitney?
Gonna be at W.Lofers Bend next Sunday and I assume there is a grilling ban so I'm bringing my own. Gonna sit back, eat some ribs and brisket and listen to the Cowboy game. Thanks for any info you can give me.

well we dont have a whole lot of selection. There's a bbq
joint at the interscetion of hwy 22 & 933 on the west side
of whitney. Havent actually eaten there but have heard mixed
opinions at that place. Theres also I think a place or two in
laguna park. Now hillsboro isnt to far from whitney and they
have a place called up in smoke or they use to and it was good.

Ranch house is pretty good grub. The Green Pickle down town has
a good burger and ice cold beverages. Check out the new lake
just north of town if you have time. Wish I had time to do a trip
this year.

If you are going through Glen Rose then I HIGHLY recommend the barbeque at Hammond's.

I make occasional trips to Glen Rose to fish. On one of those trips I discovered, sadly, Hammond's is closed on Wednesdays. So, no more fishing trips to Glen Rose on Wednesdays just because Hammond's is closed, it's that good.

It may not be suitable for your travel plans, but their pie is AWESOME. thumb
