Are they worth a hoot? I understand their durability is questionable, but do they work? Looking for a warm weather rain suit.

No, if you are talking about gear for weather for Sat, no way, invest in insulated Guideware from Cabels.

, you will be happy you did.

Got one of those GoreTex XPS parkas with the removeable jacket inside back in December, havnt had the chance to wear it in the rain, but bet it'd do a pretty good job. I like it without the jacket inside, isnt too hot or too cold.

I think that for the money there is not a better hot weather rains suit than the Frogg Toggs. I have washed mine twice, too. I fished all day in a non-stop rain and down pour and never once got wet. When I got home I have 4" in my rain gauge and this was from 7:00-11:00. They are not as durable as other rainsuits but do work very well in my opinon.

God Bless,
Stephen

Frogg Toggs are total ****, I was happy with mine for 1 year, after that they wear out. I only wore them about 4 or 5 times in that year when I first go them and was very happy, but the first time I put them on this year, I got completely soaked. My brother in the boat had a brand new pair and was completely dry.

SEVERAL others fishing the same tournament got drenched in Frogg Toggs, this was less than a month ago.

Anyway, point is, they do not last, so if you're satisfied with spending $70 for possibly one season's use, go for it.

Personally, I would save my money and get something goretex that would last.

P.S. I did not wash them.

Cabelas also makes Guidewear Goretex that is non-insulated and it is good for hot days. I have had one for 3 years and it does real good.

I used an old pair of Nylon cheapo Wally world Gortex knockoffs that worked well. They are about $50 for the suit. I think he said he used a can of Scotch Guard on them but It did keep me dry. I plan on getting some of them now that it may actually rain!

I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

My wife and I both have them. Got 'em big enough to wear OVER heavy winter clothes. Wear them a lot, always kept us dry. Biggest possible disadvantage? No fly in pants or bibs. They are a pull down proposition for both sexes. My advice considering this? Get a set. Make up your own mind. If they don't suit you, you'll only be out 60-70 bucks and you'll have first hand experience and won't have to rely on the opinions of others.
