So is the new chip in stores yet, or how can I get one? (Sorry, I didn't read through all 6 pages of posts!) Thanks

Thats what I don't understand. If it was an old product then why does it have the new lakes on it? I have asked that Jeff email me directly as I don't want to do it on an open forum without the correct facts.

I just saw the new chip of Lake Fork. Where are the roads and other marker. No thanks, I will keep my old chip. I think it is better.

I emailed Navionics and asked them what they plan on doing to correct their incomplete map and they won't respond. I'd tell them to cram the chip, but I bought it for Fork and it is good on that, plus it covers some local lakes here that nobody else does. What you do get is more lakes than Hot Maps Elite. What you don't get is good data it appears on the maps they say are "HD". If you are buying the chip for the extra lake coverage then it might be worth while. If you are buying it for Lewisville, Ray Roberts, or Eufala, you better have them slap it in a hand held at your store first and see if you are happy. It is incomplete at best for those 3 lakes. I've not tried to look up any of the other HD lakes, so I can't say what it does or does not do for them. It does seem to have the same data for non "HD" lakes that you would get from hot maps Elite. So, the problem is only on the HD lakes and Lake Fork is not a problem. In a nutshell BUYER BEWARE, if you are looking for High Definition lake maps.

rudapa, sorry the map on lake fork is still off in serveral places. Where I launch my boat it is aleast 100 yards off. Makes me wonder how far it is off in other places.

Good_Skeeter_Man, then there is no reason to own this chip that I can think of. I'll be down there next Saturday and I hope you are wrong. I will be looking for a refund pronto if Lake Fork is not accurate, there would be no reason to even have the chip let a lone pay $149 it if it doesn't have good Fork data. What I want to know is why Navionics isn't explaining this problem????

Rudapa,
I called last year and they told me to send the data on the area that were wrong and they would have it check out. Will guess what? That's not my job. They told me the chip can't be used for navivational purposes.Da!
I use the chip alone with the Fishing elite chip. I manage OK. But I would like to see Martin Maps work with somebody. That would be something.

So you bought the 2006 chip after they did you that way last year? Has anybody else had the 2006 Navionics chart on Lake Fork and if so what did they think of the data and its accuracy?

No, my chip is over a year old. I look at the new one to see if they corrected it. But all it has is more conture lines. Not any road, etc. My old one works for that.

Actually it has road beds and creek channels marked, grass, trees, submerged ponds, along with fantastic depth contours. I didn't see any areas that show NO DATA like Ray Roberts, Eufala, and Lewisville. I'll know more about it for Fork after the week after next.
