The Gold format and the new lake detail will make the investment well worth it. Anyone want to buy Ronnie's X-16 cheap? :p

What about the new 642 Eagle/GPS combo coming out in Feb? It is the one with 640x480 resoulution. Which chips will be compatible with those. Making a purchase in March and tryng to decide between it or the Lowrance 334. Thanks

Truly inovative stuff, I'll be pulling my 3 year old chip out of the Lowrance tonight.
Wait, when is this available, sorry? I skipped upgrading last year, but will DEFINETELY have to upgrade this year.
1' contours, holy cow!
Jig,
How do you use those Lowrance maps? Do you pull them into MapCreate?

Jeff,
Will the new HD chip work in the Eagle FishStrike 2000C/GPS? It has the 640x480 resolution.
Thanks,

the old chips were $199. If you wanted to trade them in you got $75 credit.. which means you paid $125 to upgrade (if you wanted to).
the new chips are $150. You can trade in your old chips for $50 credit.... which means you pay $100 to upgrade.
Think I like the cheaper price.

Thanks, Okie, Yes it will. Have the same unit and went to the Navionics website and there is a compatibility chart that says so under the FAQs I believe.

Has anybody looked over the problems being discussed with the Navionics 2006 Premium chip on this thread? http://www.texasfishingforum.com/.ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025094;p=2

rudapa, Here is their email reply. Dear Bob, It seems like you may have received an older version of the product. What Jeff mentioned was correct and we would recommend returning your chip for the updated 2006 chart. The new part number is PREM-S2. If you need additional information or have any issue returning you chip, please do not hesitate to ask or contact our Customer Service Department direct at 1-800-848-5896 for assistance. Bob, my chip isn't old, are they saying it is mismarked as new? It has new lakes on it that were not available last year. I'm confused.
