whats teh best size bottles to use for channel cats? Will just a regualer coke bottle work 12oz? thinking of doing 2 hooks per jug whats your ideas?

I am no expert however I have seen alot of these, and they have always been gallon sized or 2 liter. I would think a big cat could pull a 12oz under long enough to get it hung on something. Esp if there is lots of weeds or brush.

you can use a 20 oz bottle and put in some white peanut in them about half way up and if a big one take it under it will be up in about 2 min.

i use to make my own jugs. but i got to where i like
using them foam jugs from academy bc its so easy adjust
the depth on them,store them, etc.its about 12.00 dollars
for 3 but they are pretty darn nice too. Yea 20 oz bottles make pretty good jugs too tho

Gatoraid and Poweraid bottles work well also. But according to TPW they need to be white....

The smaller bottles are harder to see. Plus if a fish of just about any size gets on it, it will pull it all over the place. When in doubt use a bigger jug.
