Earlier this summer I had to fix my livewell pump, so with the tank out, I decided to change my fuel line, bulb and the fuel diaphragm in my ProXS. I'm having a problem now of loosing suction at idle (I guess this is the problem) as I am constanting having to get up and pump the bulb if I idle for 2-5 minutes graphing or going slow through stump field. My idea is I have a fuel line connection thats not tight. Anyone else had this type of problem?

Yes, I would say an air leak.

Make sure you check the basics, if you haven't already.

-gas cap vent hole, make sure it's open, and not clogged
-all the components are put on correctly, (direction)
-Use high quality components. I've had bad connectors straight from the box.
-sometimes when you work on fuel systems, junk gets into the orifice of the system and clogs things up. flush your gas tank out and start over
-try an external tank and see if you can isolate the problem.

there's more you can do; but start there. good luck

I would try another fuel bulb. Have had trouble with new ones from off brand suppliers this year.

+1 on using a OEM bulb also if you replaced the fuel pump diaphram make sure you use OEM on this part as well. I have had issues with aftermarket kits you can feel te differnce in the diaphrams between a OEM kit and a aftermarket

So thanks for the replies. Here's an update. All parts were OEM that I replaced. I even changed the diaphragm again to make sure. Problem still exists. Motor runs great up at speed, but will run out of gas at idle for more than 5 minutes. I got an email from Don Weed and he suggested all the things plus something I hadn't changed yet and that is the fuel pickup pump? I have been studying Mercury parts and I don't see that part. Any ideas?
