I agree, but I may be ahead of you... I've got the wife to sign off on one. Now I just have to save up!!!
Seems ideal for spotting underwater structure, brush piles and such without taking forever! I cannot wait to get one, but I have to admit that it is kind of nuts to spend more on a fish finder than some spend on their boats. I guess half the fun of fishing is buying new gadgets and lures.

Briefly looked at them at Cabelas - the resolution & clarity of the screen is incredible!
Won't be too long before we take a laptop to the lake!
