I just got a 3 bank on board charger....thought about mounting to bottom side of battery/fuel tank compartment door...it states that I should not mount above batteries as gas from batteries could harm unit so this location is out... any suggestions as to where these things are normally mounted or where you have yours mounted will be appreciated....boat type is a 1984 Ranger BMC.................Thanks

mine is on the transom about level with the batteries.

One is mounted in the rod storage box (a single for the motor battery) and the other (a 2 banker) is mounted in the forward storage area (charging 2 batteries for the trolling motor).
These were installed by BPS, if that means anything.
