 trashed the lower unit, anyone know where to get another???

Mornin gents hope all is well, just returned from a very short trip to Bridgeport. Hit a rock pile and busted a hole in the bottom of the lower unit and it's also stuck in gear. The prop is a little chewed up on the ends but nothing broke off and I think with a little blood, sweat, & tears it can be repaired. I really hope when I drop the lower it will free up the gears and allow it to shift back into neutral. It's an '89 Evinrude 150XP. Any suggestions??? Trying to avoid getting corn-holed from a dealer if all possible. Appreciate any pointers, thank ya much!!! Oh yeah, and I posted the location of the rocks in the fishing reports.

Appreciate it, but I'm not to sure a weld job is gonna do the trick on this. It's a really nasty gash right on the bottom of the cone, maybe they could cut it out and fab up a new one or something. I'll see what they say, Thanks TBS.

Sorry Mike no offense meant, but $2,000+ for a new lower! No thanks I'm gonna pass on that. I don't think the whole motor is worth much more than that. Found some used & refurbs on e-bay for much less, however I'd like to find someone local (DFW) to go and pick it up.

What budget are you trying to stay in 817? That would probably help alleviate a lot of cursing lol.

Yeah you got that right, the cheaper the better. I found a used one for $400.00 but it's in Florida, LOL!!!

Oh I know how that goes. PM me if you can't find one, I'm headed to DFW tomorrow morning and can bring you the one off my personal boat (blown powerhead). It's off a 91 Evinrude 150 Intruder so I'd have to double check the fit...
