I like the full grip better. A few manufactures make split-grips that feel good in my hand, but not many. Most are too thick.

Me too. Minus the foregrip though.

Full grips only. Weight reduction of the split grip can cause the rod to be tip heavy with a light weight reel.

I jumped on the split grip bandwagon a few years back and now I find myself refusing to buy some rods that I truly like because they are only offered in split grip. Split grip is IMO just a fad.

I thought split grips were cool at first but after a while, I started to realize I liked my full grip rods better. I'm not sure I'll buy another split grip rod.

I'm like some of the earlier posters. I like the split grips on the slow moving lures and full grip on faster presentations. In my opinion, split grips are here to stay and this comes from someone that is very old school. I like holding the exposed blank next to the knob on the end with a loose grip made by my index finger and thumb, for long two handed casts. It's not for everyone, but it works well for me.

Plus, I like the looks of split grips.

I'm also old school and much prefer full cork grips over anything else. However, some of my favorite rods, Power Tackle, now come with split grips only and no cork. I'd far rather have a split grip on a rod I like than full cork on one I don't.

+1 well said!

Some of the rods you guys like are sooooooooo expensive though! But I guess if I had I'd spend it too. You only go around once don't ya know, unless you believe in reincarnation.
