Just went from a 12V trolling motor to a 24V. Can I charge one battery at a time? Do I need to disconnect the common wire between the two batteries Can I put a charger on each battery, same as above, if i use two battery chargers do i need to disconnect the common wire between the batteries

Yes, Charge each one seperately and make sure you disconnect the jumper wire- always! I have 3 batteries in my boat with a seperate charger for each one. Unlike having a 2 or 3 bank charger if one of mine go bad I dont have to go buy a new 3 bank charger I just buy 1

Don't think that ya really need to remove the jumper. As much as most people fish and re-charge they would probably wear out the battery terminals, Ha Ha. Seriously I don't do this and really haven't seen or heard of anyone who removes the jumper. I've not been removing it for over 25 years with no problem.

Don't believe there is any problem with using two chargers at the same time. This is the same thing the 2 Bank charger works.

Here in South Carolina the lakes are about 8 - 10 ft. low. Not as bad as you all have I'm sure. I heard somewhere that most of Texas has not had any significant rain for a year. Also the lakes in my area are about 100 ft. deep so we don't notice it as much.

I have a 83 ranger with a 12v or 24 volt troll motor, it came from factory with the plug from troll mtr the plugged into socket up front it has seemed to not charge as well so I take off jumper wire and use 2 chargers it works for me.

When you say jumper wire are you meaning the tm plug or the actual jumper between the two batteries?

I am talking about removing the jumper wire between the two batteries, since one is connected to positive and one is connected to negative on the other battery. I was not sure how that worked with the charging?
What i have been doing to be safe right now is removing the wire between the two batteries and charging each battery by itself.
