Im happy that the weather down here is finally cooling

The 100+ degree days of summer are slowly going away in favor of windier, cooler days. Im sure that we, humans, wont be the only animals to notice.
How should i adjust my fishing technique in favor of this cooling weather? Do i still go fishing at dusk/sunset for the best times?
Also should i use the same bait/lures i used in summer or should i change it up a little? I have mostly used bread/nightcrawlers/plastic grubs.
Im fishing in a small stream 8-10 ft wide, and a retention pond. My target species are sunfish/bass/channel cats.
