I went back to Academy and returned mine that broke and got another one. I went fishing today and didn't have any problems with it. I'm crossing my fingers cause I really like the rod.

Wow, a positive carrot thread. Love mine and had them (gold carrot) for years. Keep hopeing the bad PR from early problems will scare someone with a 7'8" heavy action (gold) and they will sell it to me. But just wait a minute and the "I've broke a dozen of them" guys will join in. Put a 200E7 on one and you have peas and carrots.

I bought a half dozen around the time they were having problems with their supplier. Only had one break, 6'9" crankin rod, and it was replaced by the dealer no questions asked. Have since purchased four more and love them. If a fish toots within 10 yards you can tell what he had for breakfast. Use them for bass, stripers and inshore fishing and since they switched blank suppliers never had a problem.

I have 3 and no problems yet. Very sensitive rods. The last one I bought has the micro guides.
