I have seen a few videos with this Kayak in it and it looks like it is super easy to operate and wouldnt wear you down as fast but it is $2500 and that a bunch of money for a plastic boat. Just wondering what yall think about it.
It looks like a cool Kayak to me.
There might be better buys for the money though.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

it depends on what you mean by worth it.
to me, yes it was. But I'm 6-9 pushing 300lbs. and I fish over 180 days a year for a wide variety of fish. so yeah to me it was money well spent.

i could get two real nice kayaks that couldn't hold everything I want to take with me nor support me comfortably on the lake or ocean for as many hours as I spend there. So i'd have two nice kayaks that would be sitting in my garage in favor of my boat, where as my boat usually sits in the garage in favor of the pro angler as long as I'm not taking kiddos with me. So overrated... not to me.

That's way I said it depends on what you mean by worth it. If something gives you everything you want that nothing else quite does, then it is worth the money.

Some love it some hate it. It's definitely a large boat and technically not even a kayak. It wouldn't work for most of what I do

I've had it in 4 inches of water over a rock bed on village creek and I've taken it 8 miles off shore. And everything in between. Granted, you have to be a strong paddler if you are going to go into skinny places where you cannot peddle...
Also portages are not easy in places you cannot roll it. If you can't carry 160 pounds on your shoulder pretty easy I wouldn't recommend trying to portage anyplace you cannot roll it.

If your needs are what the Pro Angler offers, then yes it's worth it.

I guess im just looking at the easy way it peddles through the water. If you plan on paddling out 5 miles your going to be half spent before you get there. I wasnt aware it weighed 160 pounds. Most of the time I would use it at the coast so that wouldnt matter but loading it up might be a pain in the tail.

If you like the way it peddles through the water then look at the Outback. Smaller, lighter, and cheaper. The Pro Angler is a Cadillac. It's not pratical for everything but what it is practical for it does very nice.

Don't forge get you could land a plane on it. I have one it's my first yak ( some say it ain't I say it ain't so ). I like it because it's stable. I Can put a bunch of junk in it. I got it at Austin Kayaks for 2200. It can be a bear to load. At some point I think I will get an outback or a smaller yak but what's really cool is I can stand up in it and cast. It does need about a foot of water for the peddle drive.

Most of the time I would use it at the coast so that wouldnt matter but loading it up might be a pain in the tail. I wasn't aware it weighed 160lbs either. I went to the hobie website and they say 88lbs there. It has a 600lb carrying capacity too. I have the outback and am very happy with it's performance. It weighs 66lbs but the carrying capacity goes down to 400lbs. It's extremely stable, and a happy medium between the PA and the Revolution. The average trip I'm taking on Ray Roberts has increased to 7-8 miles in a day. And yes I'm tired at the end of the day. LOL. The Pro Angler is huge. But if your looking for stability, I'm not sure if it can be beat. The best thing you could do is to go test drive it at the same time as the Outback and the Revolution. The Revolution is a rocket compared to my Outback. However you give up some of the stability of the Outback to obtain the speed of the Revolution. It's a trade off that only you can decide whats right for you and the type of fishing you will be doing.

Yea
I would probably go with the smaller model for less money. I have been in all sorts of kayaks and never flipped one over but I dont want to be 2,3,4 miles out and flip one over either. I like the idea of the PRO angler because of the stability. I wish the COOSA came in power drive model. I hear the COOSA is a great kayak and super stable. For now I will just have to man up and get to paddling but I will start socking money away and maybe this time next year I will have enough saved up to get what I want. It will take that long to decide what it is I want..:)
Pay as I go no financing my toys.

It sure helps to drive what you are considering. Several folks helped me do just that and made my choice easier. I bought an Outback two weeks ago. I like the stable platform, mirage drive, 400 lb capacity, and 12ft length. But that's just me.
Kayak dealers in Dallas, Austin, and San Marcos have demos scheduled where you can test each Hobie and other brands in the water. After the test drives, I bet you won't need a year to decide. lol
Still learning to kayak fish with my Hobie Outback.
