There is a sign posted at the front gate of Calaveras saying that there will be a "pricing schedule change" starting Jan 2012.You can only assume it will be an increase. The new management has been doing a great job with the park. Just hope they keep things reasonable.

It would be nice if they spent some of the money to clean up all the F'n trash all over the banks. I can't hardly stand fishing either of those two lakes due to all that damn trash everywhere. It is just disgusting!

FISH ON!!

I haven't fished there in years just because of all the trash left behind!

The trash thing has gotten better since TT took things over. Still not acceptable but moving in the right direction. They seem to keep the riff raff controlled better too. I noticed the sheriffs patrol inside the park now as well.

it only went up like $2 for yearly price if i remember... i think it's great...charge a little more per day for the "sometimes" kinda fisherman! hopefully we'll see better amenities in the future, but i doubt it..just richer workers

When Thousand Trails took it over I was a little surprised they didn't automatically raise the rates but everyone pretty much knew it was coming, and now that it's here it probably won't be very long before we see these rates steadily increase over the next couple of years, and they have plans for the parks like camper spaces and such, since it is an RV campground moreso than a lake park maintainance company, and they are in it to make money.

As for the trash, it is pretty much night and day comparison to how it was when SARA had it. TT at least makes an effort to keep the trash picked up and the fish cleaning station clean as well as the restrooms, and I think they are doing a good job in that regard.

A lot of people using that park think it's not their job to walk over to a trash can and deposit their trash, and it usually just drops to the ground/water when they are finished with it.

Just one more cast!

I agree. They need to charge more to keep the trashy folks out. Its a shame that you can't go camping there in fear of all your stuff getting stolen. But being on the south side of San Antonio what would one expect.

I think a more "inclusive" solution would base the fees on personal income, to force The Rich to pay their fair share of grounds maintenance.

The trashy people would still be there trashing up the place. And why should the rich have to pay more for the mess of other people create?

In all seriousness they need to start fining the heck out of those who trash up the place and if they keep doing it kick them out.

I guess fishing from a boat, I just don't see what you guys are seeing. But, I agree with them guys above, avoid cally and braunig, they are terrible lakes, go to choke or falcon....Leave cally and braunig to me. smile

Have there been any reports of brush fires on the South Side? Because I can see several plumes of smoke rising from down that way. They look like they're coming from slow burns.
