It's alot of fun- I would definitely recommend trying it out. And If I remember correctly Bud found some good sources of inexpensive quality rods.
Not "creek fishing" rods, these are supercharged distance line launchers. At places like Possum Kingdom or below Dennison dam where there are high banks to restrict traditional fly casting, this style of casting will cover some serous distance and get the fly in front on some big ones.

Great pic, I have the echo switch rod sexy but the only action it has seen is in the yard...want to go full spey this fall. Where was the pic taken great looking venue.

I bought a deer creek 5/6 from a friend and I have actually yet to get it to Texas or fish it. Hopefully, I'll be picking it up in two weeks when I'm back in Cincinnati. I don't know of any place to use it here is San Antonio though, so it'll probably sit with my unused Sage Xi3 8 weight for a bit.

When you get a chance head to the guadalupe river. you can use it there. or any other river that has water in it. That's what i'm doing with mine.
