Ok I can make a trip to Turner quicker than I can to Broken Bow, so I want to try it out. I am gonna take my fly rod as well as my spinning gear for back up. Any suggestions as to flys to take as well as bait and lures to try.

Thanks

Prince nymphs will work most of the time wooly bugers do well both with bead heads. for spinning cant go wrong with power bait or bright rooster tails best of luck!

I would go just a little farther north and check out the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. It is way cleaner than the Turner Falls area, and the water is crystal clear. No trouts to get in the way of catching carp, drum, 'gills, bass, and did I say carp?

Got my PB carp from a creek it this place.

Well we went to Turner Falls today, ask the wife if she wanted to try for crappie or trout, trout won, we got there about 2 o'clock and started fishing second cast caught my first one.
Wind was up so took our spinning reels instead of the fly rods.

Shortly after my wife caught her first.

Fished for 3 hours and caught probably 30 fish, all were caught on powerbait and panther martins. Kept our 10.

Will def be going back soon with my fly rod to catch some on the fly.
Here is one on the pools loaded with trout.

90% of the trout we caught were in the 10-11 inch range. But as you can see by my first there were also some smaller ones caught as well.

They usually put some browns in as well. Did you see any?

the biggest fish we saw was laying on the bottom and looked like about a 14-16 inch brown, but he wasn't having anything we offered or anything a fly fisherman was throwing. Wife caught one that was about 6 or 7 inches but released as we tried to keep only 10 or better unless we deep hooked them.

The best thing to use is corn, you will catch almost every cast. They usually release once it gets cold as the trout need cold water. We went in November and had a blast.

I can't really tell from the photo but are those parr marks on the fish or are they just kind of wavy from being on ice?
