I just installed a 798 on my skeeter last night. Never installed one before. I just read the instructions and went with it. It was pretty simple. Took about 3 hours total.

Got one in January this year and put it in myself. Really pretty simple. It came with really good instructions and works really well.

Which model of Skeeter, I just bought an SX190 that I am going to install my 798 on. I also need to get the other ducer and cable for shoot through speed.

Do you have any pictures of where you installed your SI transducer? Thanks

Skeeter, I have the sx176. I could take some pictures of the back of my boat but I havnt even got to try it out yet. Got a tropical storm on top of us for the next couple days. After the test run if I have no problems I can sent you pics.

I mounted it about 15" from the center of boat on the starboard side. About 1/4 from bottom edge.

Call up transducer shield and saver

http://www.transducershieldandsaver.com/home/index.php/l-brackets

they make great brackets that attach to your jack plate for an easy install of you SI transducer

+ 1 these are worth every penny when you have 200 dollar transducers hangin off your boat or trolling motor.

That would be great, thanks.

Be careful getting through that tropical storm.

I just mounted my 997 without any problems. As long as you have all the pieces, you don't even need directions!

I too mounted my ducer up where dedwards did on my stratos. Works great for scanning but its out of the water while running.
Guess I need to get another one to read while on plane?
