I am looking for some smaller, one day tournaments to fish around the DFW area. Something you could enter for $40.00 or less. Team or individual doesn't matter, just don't want to spend a fortune and/or travel 200-300 miles.

Try the working mans weeklys. The start around 6:00 and fish till dark (I beleive they startup when the time changes).
I know they have one at Weatherford, GVine and Eagle Mountain. I think there is one at Hubbard or one of the lakes over on the east side of town.
If you cannot find any information call the fun and sun boating placee in Hurst or probably Olsens or Texas Outdoors

I have your tournament, its called the family tour. It is small tournament with about 20 to 25 boats that compete in 3 divisions, panfish, jr bass and sr bass. You can fish with your son, daugther, wife or any member of your family. As a member it cost only $50 a tournament, for more infomation visit our website at:WWW.THE FAMILY TOUR.COM, or call me at 972-216-5416.

Tidecraft,
I fish two club tournaments, one is a team and the other is an individual tournament. The team tournaments are with the North Texas Bass Wranglers and the individual tournments are with the Lewisville Bass Anglers.
Both clubs fish lakes around the metro-plex like;Lake Lewisville, Cooper, Cypress Springs, Bob Sandlin, Cedar Creek, Etc.
Entry Fees for both are only $25/person with one tournament a month. These clubs are more about having fun so if your goal is to come out and win thousands of dollars these clubs aren't the right ones. Usually 1st place takes home around $200. Also, there is a friday night tournament at Lake Lewisville from 6:30 - 10:30 every friday night after the time change.
I don't know where you live but if any of these sound interesting to you let me know and I'll get yo some specifics.
BigJon

Tidecraft, The Lewisville Bass Anglers are out of Lewisville (obviously) and they meet the first Monday of every month at the Lewisville Fishing Barge. The have a one-day tournament on the fourth weekend of every month except November and December, but they do have tournaments 12 months out of the year they just change these two months due to holidays. Entry fees are $25 per person, which includes $5 for a big bass pot. You can see the web page at: http://home.swbell.net/aldert/lba/index.htm The North Texas Bass Wranglers are out of the Sherman area but they don't have meetings so there are people from all over that fish with the club. My partner and I just fished our first tournament with this club and they seem to be nice guys. Entry fees are $25 per person, which includes $5 for a big bass pot. This clubs web page is at: http://home.texoma.net/~jjmh/ntbw/ Either club would be glad to have you join up. The Wranglers are a smaller club with around 8-12 (16-24 people) boats per tournament and the Lewisville club usually averages 12-15 boats (24-30 people). Bob Aldert and Jerry Woods (both of which are members of The Lewisville Bass Anglers) put on the Friday night tournaments on Lake Lewisville. They are held at the Tower Bay boat ram next to Sneaky Pete's. If you go to the Lewisville Bass Anglers web page mentioned above you can get Bob's phone number and find out when they are going to have the first tournament this year. I would tell you but I'm not sure my self. The night tournaments are a three fish, team/individual tournament, meaning that you can fish by yourself or with a partner but only three fish can be weighed in per boat. There are usually around 8-12 boats. Entry fees for the night are $30 for individual and $35 for a team. $5 of each entry fee goes to the big bass pot. I hope you fish with us. In the North Texas Bass Wranglers my partner and I will be in a blue Ranger with a 200 Merc. and in the Lewisville Bass Anglers and the night tournaments my partner and I fish out of a 20' custom camo Alumacraft (BigJon) with a 115 Merc. You can't miss it! Hope we see you on the water. BigJon

TideCraft, All you need to do is click the TFF Tournament Link in the top left hand corner of this page. Team format at $50.00 per team with an optional $10.00 big bass. There a great time and there were some pretty decent payouts this past year. Check them out, I'm sure you'd enjoy them.

For a small tournament try the Pioneer Charity Crappie Tournament. To be held at Tom Finly Park on Cedar Creek Lake March 30th. Entry is $30 per person. More info, let me know! Hope to see you all there.
