When slabs aren't working will bream catch hybrids? The fish were there but would not hit an artificial.

I remember when Whitney had it's first Golden Algea fish kill. Bream were unbelievable on the Stripers. I tend to believe that if shad are present - well then they prefer them but when shad are tough to find for both us and the fish then bream can be GREAT!

"The redder...the dead'r"

Use the red belly ones vs. the yellow ones
if you have a choice. 3" are the best size.

DaJudge & I use yellow Crappie Nuggets
on small gold treble hooks & slim bobbers.
No slimy worms or crickets to chase.

I think mitch is spot on. I never seem to have much luck with "perch" and ive attempted using them a ton. However the lakes I've always fished were loaded with shad. The exception to that was back in the late 90's we used to fish whitney a good bit. I could never catch shad there. We started to take perch and did really well with them. Ive tried them on RC a good bit and without exception I would catch 10 hybrids on shad for every 1 on perch.
