I can't even find the mature copperhead in the third picture!

We don't really run into too many cottonmouths. I see more rattlesnakes than cottonmouths.

The copperhead pic looks like his tail got dipped in some chartreuse spike it. Those diamond back water snakes are very aggressive. If you have the "stones" to put one on the hook, they make good bass baits. I saw one about 10" long swim across a set of lilly pads. It got blown up on 8 or 9 times until something got it.

Another thing to remember is that 90% of the time copperheads are docile and will not rear back and strike there known for just sneaking up and biting or rolling over and biting after you have steeped on them, its always good to ware a pair of leather boots as they will protect you most of the time.

Yeah, docile until threatened or aggravated, then 99% of them will become aggressive or strike. However, they tend to initially make defensive strikes which don't deliver much venom. They usually like to save their venom for something they are going to eat.

What is the other snake in the photo with the Yellow-Bellied Racer? Just to the left, but looks to be a lot thicker. Same snake or another one deeper in the brush?
