Lets do our part in making sure we don't see further cuts to our Parks and Wildlife Dept. $5 is a small investment to make towards something we all love so much...
"House Bill 1301 passed in the recent session means when Texans get motor vehicle registration renewal notices in the mail, theyll see a new option to donate $5 or more for state parks. The option will first appear on January renewal notices going out in December. Drivers can also donate when registering at their county tax office or online in counties which offer online payment. The Texas Comptroller estimated this will earn about $3.2 million for the biennium, and this revenue must be raised to avoid further reductions in park operations and staffing"

I'll be contributing.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

TBBU( and others) lobbied Austin for the FReshwater stamp and got it and you see what they did or didnt do with that. You think they wont missuse this money too. I will not donate one cent till all the FRESH WATER STAMP money has been released back to TPW budget for fresh water fisheries...

I'll not "contribute" another dime to this bunch of thieves. The Leg is holding the $5 FW stamp money hostage (along with other supposedly dedicated funds) to balancing the state budget. Until the state quits playing games with our money, my money stays in my pocket.
I realize TPWD may not be the culprit here, but the results are the same.

Hmm I give it 6 months and they will move that money into the general fund, just like they have every other extra that they claimed would go to TP&W

Hmm I give it 6 months and they will move that money into the general fund, just like they have every other extra that they claimed would got to TP&W +1, exactly They are trying to get at people's hearts. This is just like social security. If the gov't had not robbed it it would be in fine shape. I do not trust the jerks any longer. I read in the paper that Texas Medicaid paid out more money for braces than the rest of the 49 combined. Medicaid is not supposed to pay for cosmetic cases. They need to put all of our tax money in little drawers in Fort Knox and not let it out until there is absolute verification of what it will be spent on.

You can thank your wonderfull govener! Just think what will happen if he gets to be president. All of those fees are just hidden taxes and those fees and requests for donations will go sky high with all the so called republican/tea party government downsizing! No matter what government has to pay bills and you and I want parks, lakes, roads and other things that cost the government money! So either you get higher taxes for all and those things like parks, lakes, roads and other things get maintained for all or you cut taxes and raise the fees for those who only use those things! You have to decide. The problem with that logic is that people will reject those fees and stop using the parks and they will then close. If you think everyone will donate $5 when they renew their license for parks and wildlife your dreaming! Be aware of the right wing spin and be very aware of Rick Perry!

I disagree.Parks, lakes, roads doesnt cost government anything.Itcosts thetaxpayer. You can thank Obama first for the shape this country is in and then Perry.Im totally for downsizing government. Then people will have some money todonate.
