A friend of mine just got a place on Fork, " now he's a really good friend." I've fished it enough to make my way around and catch LMB but we are taking our sons and i was wanting to know how we may assist in reducing the number of Sandies. I.E. Where to look. I know telling specifics is a no,no on most lakes but I'm also aware that many of the LMB guys are happy to get the Sandies caught and don't mind telling where the Sandies lurk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know specifics, but my bro catches them out there very frequently.

You may have already done this , but post this on the bass section.
I'm sure you'd get some kind of response.

Good luck mike

And welcome

Jason , post on the bass section if u have not already done so. I know Mustang creek is full of them. My neighbor fishes it often and always complains about the @#$@# sand bass taking his crank baits.

I saw them hitting shad very shallow out in front of Lake Fork Lodge yesterday. They were thick on Horseshoe earlier this summer and I'm sure are still there and late spring and summer on the shallow end of the 514 road bed. I hope this helps!

You can always find them schooling on the flat on the north side of 154 and to the west of cow bird bird island - they school along the drop off and around the old submerged oil well pad.

Late afternoons you can get all you want.

Reduce some of the #'s of those "bass" while you're out there also thumb

I know it is beating a de but I am sure you can catch all the sandies you want at Lake Fork and will never dent the population. They are there to stay and honestly I wish they were there when we had a place there for 10 years. I love to catch sandies but truly understand why Lake Fork was built by TP&W as a trophy LMB lake and the records confirm they have been successful. That is why most folks go to Fork for the chance to catch a trophy size LMB...not to catch sandies.

I'm going to be at Fork for the Big Bass Splash later this month. We're going up on Tuesday night, and we'd like to catch some whites on Wednesday and maybe Thursday. Thanks for posting this, and any other help would be great!

Lake Fork was built by S.R.A.'s contractor.
(70% owned by Dallas water utility)
T.P.& W. manages it for recreational fishing etc...
