So I'm fishing JP till about 4 am. I'm pretty much the only guy left on the lake, only saw 2 or 3 boats all night. As I'm heading toward the boat ramp, I run into a couple who apparently think they have the whole lake to themselves also. They are making the sign of the three-tailed squirrel right there on the dock in front of the restaurant. All I saw was legs flying and some guys bald head, thankfully. I did an about-face and backed away for a few minutes, but maybe I handled this situation wrong?
Should one in this situation take the scared-straight approach? Shine the flashlight and start blowing my whistle and hope they make a dash for the car? Or maybe this calls for the good neighbor technique, where you ask if they need any help? I suppose you could always go with the standard fishing greet, 'hey, are you catching anything?' My cell phone has a camera with a flash on it. I think I might have used it...Once upon a time a friend of mine was working his way to the back of a wooded cove and came upon a couple busily engaged. As he got closer he bumped a tree and that brought the two out of their "mood"...The guy looks up, and my friend says "Doin any good?"...Classic...

I remember a time as a boy scout, we caught a young couple, in the woods at Camp Wisdom. Being the sneaky boys, that we were, we went back and got the whole troop, and flashlights...
What a fun night..
