Thinking about going to Amistad over the Labor Day weekend to fun fish. Any new reports? Has the bass fishing changed any from about a month ago. Last time I went the top water bite was off after the thunderstorm and rain came through. Just wondering if it has picked up any or what's new.
Thanks

I'll be down Labor Day as well. It's been almost a year since the last time I fished my favorite lake and I guess I'll have to start from scratch.

Look for a White Kenner, I may be actually "sliming" my boat if the green trash fish aren't cooperating. i will probably be spotted around the mouth of the Devils if I am looking for the kitties.

Maybe that's why we haven't caught any TOADS. We always end up going in about 4ish. That whole 6 to 4 thing tends to wear you out. Maybe I can talk them into 6 to 12 or so then go back out around 5. Thanks for the info Manchu.

From what I hear I think that lightening storm messed up the shallow bite for a bit but it has kind of come back. I also think that early AM and then later PM fishing is in store, with some mid day napping.

Hasn't slowed the frog bite at all. If you can find them in the grass, you can catch them all day. Bull ribbits in Loussiana craw, greenpumkin pearl and wat red pearl are big producers right now.

I've got a spro frog and a popper. I'm guessing these will work just as well? Have a friend who said he always does real well with this lure but I've never been in a good area to try it.

On a side note, we had a friend go down this past weekend and said he had a slow time w/ fishing but was carolina riggin' and caught a 11.5 lbs. Seems like that would make the whole trip wink

Lol. Yes it would. I've had a hard time on plastics lately although most people are buying wat red lizards????? and zoom ole monsters. Fortunately I don't mind fishing the Ribbits. BTW you are right, regular frogs are also working well although I dont throw them because of the bad hook up ratio plus I like casting heavier stuff.
