This may not be in the right forum but since I just chase kitties, here it is. Came back from the lake Saturday afternoon, it was brutal hot, parked the boat under the shed and headed into the house. Got up Sunday morning to do a clean up, got over in the boat and found that my auto inflate PFD and done exactly that, "inflated". Sure wasn't from any water, we haven't seen any rain in so long, I guess the heat is what got it. Off to Academy for a re-arm kit, and now the PFD will be staying in the house until fishing time.

Was it in the direct sun or in a storage compartment? I have been thinking of getting one but worried about the heat and rain

It was in a dry storage compartment, out of direct sun, but we have also broken record temps in the past few days down here.

I used to keep mine under console on my boat, it popped, also had one hanging on wall in the shed, it poped also, they are heat sensitive

It happened to me as well and it sure wasn't because of precipitation out here! it was in the garage sitting on top of the console when it inflated "automatically".
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

Thanks for posting, mine is in my truck right now, and has been for a week or so... it'll be inside the house when I get home tonight!

I do love those though. I can wear mine all day and never realize it. Mine is the pull tab kind so idk if heat will set those off.

It's not iffy. They are over sensitive apparently. Is rather that than they be under sensitive.
