Picked the hottest day of the year to get one last summer trip in before football season. When we dropped off the boat at 2 pm the temperature on the suburban read 111 degrees. Fish quit biting by 9 am but managed about 20 between the two of us. We wanted to work on our deep water techniques but was too windy early and too hot and still later. All caught in grass from 1-8 feet, T-rigs and drop shotting. ForeverFishing with the 1st one of the day and a solid slot chunk:   A good 4lbr  Biggest one of the trip, about 7:

Man that was great trip Bass Junkie!
These fish were moving through a creak channel and remained pretty lathargic through out the morning. We did manage some numbers but most of the fish were typical "Fayette Fish" in the 3-4# range, healthy and once hooked seemed to fight harder than usual. A good summer trip!

Great Report. I will be going to Fayette first thing in the am Fishing with Mark Fransen. Looking forward to it.
What color were you throwing with T rigs and Drop shots?
 If im not fishing im Bi*chin that id rather be!

Are there any grass matts out there right now? How is the lake level? Only saw one mat on the north side of lake. Three fingers had areas with grass almost to the surface. Had to clear the trolling motor several times. Lake is less than a foot low.
