Hello Ray,

I was out for a few minutes last week. The crappie were slow, but the little channel cats were biting like crazy. I did hear one report that the crappie were biting across at the point in the 14 foot water over the rocks.

Let us know how you did.

I fished MW yesterday morning for about 4 hours until it got too hot to stay out. I caught quite a few small crappie and cleaned 14 nice ones. All were caught on brushpiles in 10-12' water. All were caught on Slab Bandits in Texas Toast color. They were hitting very light and slow jig movement worked best. There were some guys fishing close to me and they were catching crappie on minnows in about the same depth water. Sorry I didn't respond before you went out this morning. Let us know how you did.

So after a few problems with my boat this morning started fishing at 8:00-11:45 I ended with 11 keepers and around 12 that were just under 10". Most were caught using minnows in 12-14 feet of water.

The brushpiles I have found are around the island and fairly close to some of the fishing piers. They are small and I did not find them until I installed a side imaging unit on my boat. I have also found some tires that somebody sunk in about 12' of water.

Went the last three mornings and did not get any large numbers. 8 on Saturday, 7 on Sunday and 5 this morning, Big one this morning was 14.25". Had to find cover from the wind the past two mornings. I have been fishing water from 7-14' deep. I would try the A-frame first and work the ledges going east on the lake to the point across the lake from the store. Also try water 7-10' deep over by the Northeast fishing pier and work your way south from the pier. There is some big bolders on the shore for reference by the way. Minnows do well right now, but jig color that I have got fish on are texas toast, pink body with white tails and sexy shad or salt and pepper, with crappie nibbles on all jigs. Good luck cborden. Let me know if you find them.

Caught a few on the point east of the a frame..All fish caught were on the drop off from in 10 to 12 ft..There was a 30 minute window were they were biting good and just shut off.Texas toast seemed to be the preferred color. If we don't get rain soon you won't be able to launch.
