Thinking of getting a kayak have fished in just about everything but one of these but would like to see if any cdlubs around to help. See the rentals great way to try them out.
Wanted to see if any fishing trip etc.

Near Lavon, have tube fished here a lot, looking for something to get around a little faster (run from the snakes)

We just had a big get together last weekend. About 30 different kayaks out there. I need to get to sleep since im getting up at 6 to go fishing

Yup, we've got one large group for DFW and north Texas. We should have a another G2G late Fall. On the NE side of Dallas take a look at High Trails kayaks in Garland, they do rentals.

Palovick, you sound like me just a few weeks ago. I got some suggestions on kayaks from this forum. Then I went to the GTG and several nice folks let me take a short test ride. It was a real eye opener for me.
Now I would not want to buy without driving that model of kayak first. Your smart to want to experiment. There is a world of difference between models and there is no perfect Kayak for all people and all situations. I guess that is why some folks on this forum own several.
Several dealers offer test rides. Mariner Sails in Dallas does it every Thursday. Austin Canoe and Kayak is doing a demo in mid September.
I chose to buy a Hobie Mirage Outback. I am looking forward to fishing with it this fall.
This forum has some really experienced folks who are great about sharing their knowlege. Best of luck.
Still learning to kayak fish with my Hobie Outback.

High trails does rentals and they will apply rental to the price of the boat usually, they are off Marquis and Plano just south of Forest Lane.

Meet Dave99 this morning nice Kayak, was impressed, gets around a lot better than my tube for sure and has lots of storage.

fish lavon and hubbard the most but have been to several have fished Fanon and clear lake as well with tube.
Quite fishing tube when i got attacked by snakes
