Indeed, it is very low. Don't know how much longer before the ramp will be closed.
At the mean time, we are making the best if it...
One way of making the best of it is to enjoy the labor of 100degree plus...
Voila: may I present "crappie nuggets", the TRUE WHITE MEAT, guarantee to make McD chicken nuggets a second class!

Pure honey and a touch of Sriracha chilli sauce...yummy...

I kept 5 from the outing yesterday with Gonzz...gotta luv it!!!

Nice catch Gonzz. They are pumping water into Arlington. I saw the rock I stood on two weeks ago, when I was filling by bucket tonight, and it's covered by a foot of water now. I did poured it back after I was done fishing. The grass on the lake bed is ready to be mowed we do need rain.

Wow... That's good news (temporarily anyway). At least there is a delay of closing the Ark Lane ramp.
In recent yrs, fall is my fav time to fish LA, but since the water is so low like every place else, new honey hole must be searched. No given hotspot granted.
Then again, that's what make it "fishing" and not "catching"

Thanks for the report and good luck!

La is a very small lake, but it doesn't have much covers and very few structures. Since the water is so low, most of the productive structures in the past (cut drop or drop off) are about 3' of water. Various docks on the North end of the Bowman ramp used to be good, but they are also dried this year.
If one must spend time on LA this Fall, one might want to considered the creek channel running close to the docks south of Bowman ramp. Otherwise, search for deeper bps since most of the used to be good bps are officially gone or dried.

Here is one major setback for LA...: since it is illegal to set out bp at LA, all existing bps are all sneaked in by anglers over the years. When the lake got so low that any producing bp is exposed (tip the water top), they are all being yanked out by lake officials.
So when the water ever get back to normal, don't be surprise that you will have a lot of empty GPS coords.
If anyone fish bps at LA, please don't use anchor or abuse what little is left. I don't advocate anyone breaking the law or subject anyone to get caught with a fine for sinking bps, but it doesn't look good...However, if (just merely an "if") anyone sink them (also speaking to self), all anglers should greatly appreciated!!

my Dad lives on the lake South of Bowman Springs
we are going to build some awesome brush piles at the end of his dock
we dig post holes & make standing timber
when the water goes back up his dock is the old fashioned wood dock
i would like to see somebody catch crappie from there
because i sure am bad at it

Nope sorry. I don't think anyone guide such a small lake. Not enough business. Besides, one guide trip is all one need to know the whole lake, therefore, guides can't generate repeat customers...
