Anyone had any first hand experiences using one of these here on the Texas lakes? Just curious about how well it works.

Mat, yes I have one. I've only fished with it twice.
First time I used it was on Lake Fork with Pack and Buda13. Brian and Pake South were kind enough to invite us over to a nice school of hungry fish they had located. Each boat caught a fish every five minutes or so, and there were a couple flurries where each boat had multiple consecutive fish, and we were sitting 50-300 yards apart. Solid slot fish. As usual, Pake had the big fish.
Anyway, there was one period there, after we beat on those fish for 30 minutes, where the entire school seemed to be directly under the boat cleat the speaker wire for the HW was wrapped around.
Buda figured it out first. We all proceeded to simply flip and free-spool our baits directly beside that cleat and got multiple hook-ups on 2.5-6 pound fish. While Brian and Pake got nothing. And I'm talking 20 minutes or so.
Was it the HW? I dunno but we got the heck out of there so they could enjoy the evening and went hunting another school.
Our buddies KJ and Kent Cella located one almost immediately after dropping myself and Casey Cella off at LFM. KJ and Kent Cella, J.P. and Elizabeth Greeson and Brian and Pake went to this new spot and proceeded to stroke them. Solid slots crankin' almost every cast.
From what I have heard, KJ pulled the school away from the other two boats not once, but three times for the 1.5-2 hours they were in there. Was it the HW? I dunno, yet but Kelly was the only one of the three who had the HW, and had forgotten to turn it on earlier in the day.
All of this happened after Kent asked KJ if he had his HW running and Kelly turned it on.
The second time I used it was on the killer private lake I frequent. I saw nothing about the fishing that day I could attribute to the HW.
Been too danged hot for my liking so I've not used it since.

Thanks fouz. I have just read about it here and there and can see how it could help. I just haven't read any reviews. We fished under 515 bridge last weekend and these huge sand bass came up schooling like I have never seen. I don't think anyone was using any, but it was quite a scene. Thanks for your help and who knows it could help you catch one of those monsters out of your private lake.

I am leery of it....you know even their commercial with Van Dam in it says something to the effect of
that KVD had one in the area then the company questions "Did it make a difference"?
then they state "only the fish know and they are not talking"
My point is - if the company that is selling it does not even know - why should I buy it

You should buy it because KVD uses it lol. I bet you could put his sweat in a bottle and sell it at bps for $20 a pop.

They're soft selling it. If they were to say it was directly caused by the HW and go on about how great it was, people would react negatively because we've had 30 years of helicopters and pocket fishermen beating us over the head. Bad products that make people leery of any sales pitch. As a whole, fisherman have been marketed towards like a bunch of yokels at a snake oil wagon for a long time. When ever something new comes out, we're repelled because we're conditioned to be disappointed by new toys. Is the hydrowave a miracle machine? I don't know, I haven't used it but I also don't think it needs to be torched just because it's new and different. I'll at least give it a try and look at it with an open mind.

Fouz, you just hang it from the side of the boat? I am getting one and was dreading putting it on the troll motor.
Retirement best job ever.

I'd like to know how effective it is as well. Just wait, if in fact this device is very effective watch how people start bad mouthing it because it's cheating and "high dollar equipment".
If it works, I'll buy one. Lord knows I need the help!

They're soft selling it. . Hi Jay Yeah I know that....I guess my point is that it's an ineffecive commercial (to me) and the only one I have seen. If you are going to run a commercial then... show me some stats show me how it works etc etc....just don't tell me the fish know and they won't tell me - makes me think you are too afraid to stand behind your product. .....plus you know how it is on Saturday mornings...you see the same commercial 50 times and it begins to wear on you. Now if I can just get rid of that Mudhole rod building company with their "trophy fiiishhhhhhh" speech impediment guy... my saturdays would brighten considerably. RC
