When I was out @ G.V.last week we seen a couple of acres of gar rolling.First thought they were cats but no what I seen were gar and hundreds of them.
First was excited then realized they were all gar had to move as I have always heard they run the game fish off ?
The whole little bay at medowmier was filled with rolling gar.
Could have been different for you never know but they were all around the pontoon.

must have been a mistake ... the state has started protecting gar cuz they are endangered ... 
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish
