Has anyone paddled a raptor? Santa cruse kayaks. I want one bad. Looks like you could stand up and throw a net with ease. It is a sit in that you can re_enter in the water if you had to. Dont know where to try/buy one.

this what your talking about?

Might have to contact them directly. Then you can ask them for a list of distributors/sales locations in your area.

Just an observation: the triangular shape provides nice stability but looks like it might create a lot of drag.
havent gotten any reviews from someone that has actually paddled one. if you get a chance please let us hear about it.

I'm not sure where to purchase one either. Here's a very thorough review from TKF: CLICK

If they made a sit on top version it would be better.

It does look diffrent. I contacted the company and asked how to give one a try, we may get one localy. I have paddled many canoes and kayaks in both salt and fresh water. The boat I have now is ok scrambler, raptor is suposed to be faster. Standing up in a yak may not always be the best option, but when I throw my net I like to.

another advantage to being able to stand in a yak is sight fishing. Gigging rays and flounder, bow fishing etc.

Only by dudes with bad balance.
The ability to stand is almost a nessesity for the following:

Flyfisherman
Bass fishermen who precision flip/pitch with baitcasters
Flats fisherman who sight cast

I was on that trip with the wood boat and I can vouch for the stability ,speed, ect,as pionted out the only drawback was the draft,so not the best for fast shallow rivers, but she came through the Devils pretty dam well and that's a real good test.
