What's a good brand of cordless drill? I'm looking to buy one that comes with lots of attachments, like different size bits, cut-off saw blade, etc.

Milwaukee makes a really good drill. I don't know any drills especially good brands that come with what your looking. For the money go with Milwaukee with the lithiom ion batteries. Its up there with DeWalt and way cheaper.

DEWALT hands down the best. i use them everyday. milwaukee makes great corded tools but i have a set that was used less than a year and every battery went bad.

I got a Ryobi 12v when we moved into our house as a gift from our real estate agent (personal friend). Its ok, does small stuff, but i wouldnt use it on a big project. Ive used it for driving screws through multiple 2x4s and plywood and all, but anything more than that, or if you have to do a ton of them, would be disappointing probably.

dewalt are good when new. our company purchased nothing but dewalts and they died after a year. milwaukee destroys dewalt. dewalts lithium batteries run out of juice quicker than the non lithium ion dewalt batteries. milwaukee will last you a lifetime.

i have seen about 10 dewalts die.

For simple work that hitachi will be fine. If you want some serious tools for intense work like drilling a hole in concrete or something you can keep in your tool box for a long time this is the kit I have and paid about $450ish

yep, just depends on what you need it to do.

for standard homeowner use get the portercable lithium ion, not expensive and the one I got was about 150 with 2 batteries and charger and an impact driver.
as far as attachments you will have to buy a multi tool package, again porter cable, sawzall, skill saw, drill, jigsaw, etc. can all use the same battery. I have never seen a drill attachment for anything.
been in construction for about 35 yrs and own 5 dewalt battery drills, one 6 pc kit, have used about every brand made and the porter cable 19.2 volt li is so far the best.

I will second the Dewalt for general purpose home owner use. Makita for commercial use.

For light duty occasional use, Black & Decker will do, but you might like the B & D but you will love your DeWalt.

IF YOUR A HOMEOWNER!! would be the key word here, but, in my opinion, your just not gonna use these every day like a pro would. I have bought the high dollar stuff and some stuff from this list. I have never had a problem with any of it and the bank account loves me for it! There return policy is as good if not better than any other company I've dealt with. I did have to return a pump, once. I only use dewalt, use it every day the drill lasts me about a year. The problem with most homeowners with cordless drills is that they sit in the hot garage more than they get used.

After Dewalt was bought by Black and Decker they went down hill.

Had my dewalt for 6 or 7 years now. Had to buy new batteries because the old ones stopped holding charge but other than that I love it. I'm just a homeowner but I've used it for some pretty heavy duty project around the house and it's held up fine. The only thing I balked at using it for was mixing mortar when I was tiling my bathroom. It probably could have handled it but I didn't want to take the chance of ruining it so I went to harbor freight and bought a cheapy 1/2" corded drill for that.
