I've been tying this knot, and had no idea this was a DSDJK. I thought it was some form of clinch knot. Nice to put a name to it though. Great knot.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

The correct name for the DSJK is the Double Heiliger Knot. The knot that Shaw Grigsby, and Alton Jones are tying is NOT (no pun intended) the Double Heiliger Knot, aka DSJK.

TFP is right on the knot names. The double Alton Jones knot aka Shaw Grigsby knot may not have a true distinct name, but for fluoro it is very reliable-imho. I still like palomar for mono, braid-imho.

TFP, What knot are they tying then? The knot that Alton, and Shaw are tying is almost a Double Heiliger, but it leaves out a step. In the video below at 55 seconds the double line is passed through the loop between the hook eye and the wraps. This is the step that is left out with the Shaw Grigsby knot. Also Shaw only makes three wraps rather than six. I guess you could call this knot (the Shaw Grigsby/Alton Jones one) the Double Semi-Heiliger Knot?!? TFP

I suppose this knot would be ok if you like a liberal, tye dye wearin, hippie van drivn, little sissy girl knot. Me, I tie the "Cowtown Clincher", you know, a mans knot. The kind of knot that at the end of a hard days fishn you can use it to pull a sail boat off a sandbar. Next thing you know y'all be braidn your hair and ridn bicycles down to the head shop. (Sorry just bored at work)

TFP so to clarify the knot you are talking about that alton and shaw tie is the same except they don't go back through the eye first, and go straight to the top loop on you're index finger and cinch it down? if so then that's the knot I tie for 99% of my baits, i learned it as the Fox knot as that was the knot John Fox tied and he taught it to my dad when they fished together in the 70's and early 80's and he passed it on to me. It's a very good knot you can tie very quickly and is very strong, i've never had issues with then knot myself. When using the knot on flouro it's imperative to wet the knot before cinching first to keep from nicking the floro, and you have to tie carefully with braid to make it hold without slipping.

Funny how this knot grows names. I was around 27 years old (I think) when I went to a book signing at a Target store where Jimmy Houston was there for one of his books. I asked about what knot he liked and he showed me how to tie the knot in question. He said it was called "the Jimmy Houston knot". I've been using it for years. I'm in my 50's now. Regardless of the name, it's a very good knot. I just don't use it with worming cause I hate the way the 3 tags make the weight sit on the worm head.

The "Cowtown Clincher" is a real knot, hand tied by a real texan, pretty simple to learn really, just double your line and a couple of dallies and a whoey and cinch 'er down with some snuff spit. Unlike the sdjk with all the fancy twist and turns and sprinkled with fairy dust.

Alton Jones never took credit for the knot. He just said that it was a knot that he liked and he shows how to tie it on youtube.. It is the same knot that Mark tied only with a single line instead of a double.
