Has anyone ever thought about dropping there kayak in there? Pulled it up on google map and looks pretty awesome! Looks like about 4 miles to the I20 bridge. Curious to see if anyones tried it or not.

Yep, I've fished there several times. Watch out for the golf balls, lol! Mostly very shallow, and several low water dams to contend with. There is a fish consumption ban there, too just in case you didn't know.

Even where it first comes out of Benbrook lake? That's the Clear Fork, and I didn't think there was any problems till later down stream. I always went there years ago, ate plenty of fish (and frog legs) My brother would take me and we would fish, set trot lines, and hunt frogs all night.

This is from TPWD:REVISED: Clear Fork of Trinity River from Benbrook Reservoir dam and West Fork from Lake Worth dam, including main stem of the Trinity downstream to US 287 bridge. Portions of Anderson, Dallas, Ellis, Freestone, Henderson, Kaufman, Navarro and Tarrant counties.
Chemicals of Concern: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), Dioxins

Persons should not consume any species of fish from these waters.

The fish there can access the polluted waters upstream. They have found significant levels of PCBs in surveys done in the clear fork branch.

Well said. PCBs were outlawed back in the '70s. We're yet to know the impacts of the things we use these days.
